Cedrela discolor Blake, Proc. Biol. Soc Wash. 33: 108. 1920.
A tree; branches grayish-brown, conspicuously marked with leaf-scars; petioles and rachis terete or nearly so, narrowly grooved, glabrous; leaflets opposite, subopposite, or occasionally some of them alternate, oblong-lanceolate to lanceolate, 8.5-15 cm. long, 2.3-3.6 cm. broad, acuminate at the apex, acutish at the base, glabrous above and finely reticulate-veined, the midvein grooved, pale beneath, the midvein glabrous or nearly so, the surface rather inconspicuously but densely clothed with a short, appressed pubescence, the hairs more or less connivent; inflorescence about 20 cm. long, the branches hirsute; flowers short-pedicelled to subsessile; calyx hirsute, the lobes triangular, acute; petals oblong, acute at the apex, 8-9 mm. long, 2.5 mm. broad, hirsute on the back, loosely villous within; filaments glabrous; anthers oblong-elliptic; ovary globose-ovoid or subglobose, glabrous, tapering into a columnar style: fruit unknown.
Type locality: San Ramon. Durango. Distribution: Known only from the type locality.

A small tree; leaves equally pinnate, about 2 dm. long, the rachis and petioles puberulent;
leaflets 10-14, opposite, rather firm, oblong-lanceolate or somewhat oblong-ovate, 5-12 cm.
long, 2.5-4.5 cm. broad, acuminate at the apex, inequilateral and truncate or somewhat rounded
at the base, puberulent above along the midrib and lateral veins, rather densely hirsutulous
beneath; inflorescence 1.5-2 dm. high, the branches puberulent; flowers short-pedicelled, the
pedicels jointed about the middle or below, puberulent; calyx puberulent, the lobes acute;
petals oblong, 5-6 mm. long, 1.5-1.7 mm. broad, obtuse or acutish at the apex, velvety-puberu-
lent with brown, mostly appressed silky hairs; filaments glabrous; ovary glabrous, rather
abruptly contracted into the style; capsule 3-4 cm. long; seeds 2-2.5 cm. long, 7-9 mm.
broad; seeds obovate or oval, 8-9.5 mm. long.
Type locality: Near Oaxaca. Oaxaca. Distribution: Southern Mexico.

Cedrela saxatilis Rose, Contr. U. S. Nat Herb. 8: 314. 1905.
A small tree 4—7 m. high, with a slender trunk and smooth reddish bark; twigs brown, puberulent; leaves equally pinnate, 3-4 dm. long, the petioles and rachis puberulent; leaflets 10-14, opposite or subopposite, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, the lower ones sometimes ovate, 10-15 cm. long, 5-6 cm. broad, acuminate at the apex, rounded at the base, glabrous above, or puberulent along the midvein, loosely hirsute along the veins and green beneath, panicle as long as or longer than the leaves, the branches densely flowered, angled, reflexed, puberulent; flowers short-pedicelled, the pedicels jointed at the middle or below; calyx puberulent, the lobes irregular, mostly obtuse; petals oblong, 7-7.5 mm. long, 1.5-1.8 mm. broad, reflexed, obtuse, densely velvety-puberulent with short appressed hairs; filaments glabrous; anthers oblong or oblong-elliptic; ovary glabrous; style glabrous, exserted.
Type locality: Near Cuernavaca, Morelos. Distribution: Mexico.
