Spiraea japonica is a species of shrub in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to China. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Bombus bimaculatus, Bombus griseocollis, Bombus terrestris, and Bombus vagans. Individuals can grow to 1.2 m.
