Geranium lozani Rose, Contr. U. S. Nat. Herb. 10 : 108. 1906 Perennial, the caudex branched. Stems 3-5 dm. long, branched, finely and rather
sparingly retrorse-pubescent ; leaf-blades orbicular-pentagonal in outline, 3-6 em. wide, sparingly pubescent on both sides, mostly 5-parted, the divisions with narrow divaricate lobes and teeth ; pedicels pubescent with short retrorse pale hairs ; sepals awn -tipped, the outer ones 11-13 mm. long, the bodies elliptic to ovate-elliptic, with scattered hairs on the back, the inner ones finely ciliate and usually pubescent on the midrib ; petals white and veined with red, 22-24 mm. long ; style-column 23-26 mm. long, finely hirsute.
Type locality : Buena Vista Station, Hidalgo, Mexico. Distribution : Hidalgo.
