Nymphaea amazonum (Amazon Water Lily) is a species of perennial herb in the family waterlilies. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Pernambuco, Bahia, RondôNia, Ceará, Tocantins, Sergipe, Pantanal, Puerto Rico, GoiáS, Cerrado, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Paraná, AmazôNia, Pampa, Caatinga, Acre (Brazil), Rio Grande Do Sul, ParaíBa, Pará, Alagoas, Espirito Santo, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, Rio Grande Do Norte, Distrito Federal, Maranhao, Piauí, and Santa Catarina. They have simple, broad leaves.
