Argemone mexicana (Mexican Pricklypoppy) is a species of annual herb in the family Papaveraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, The Contiguous United States, and The Neotropics. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Lasioglossum tegulare, Honey bee, Halictus poeyi, and Halictus ligatus. Individuals can grow to 1 m.
