Argemone mexicana (Mexican Pricklypoppy) is a species of annual herb in the family Papaveraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, The Contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, and The Neotropics. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Halictus poeyi, Lasioglossum tegulare, Halictus ligatus, and Honey bee. Individuals can grow to 1 m.
