Carya cordiformis (Bitternut Hickory) is a species of tree in the family Juglandaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to North America, Eastern North America, United States, Canada, and The Contiguous United States. They have compound, broad leaves and green flowers. Flowers are visited by White-throated Sparrow. Individuals can grow to 29 m.
