They are native to The Contiguous United States, Western North America, United States, and The Americas. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Vanessa cardui, Honey bee, Callophrys augustinus, and Celastrina echo. Individuals can grow to 13 feet.
