Staphylea trifolia (American Bladdernut) is a species of shrub in the family bladdernuts. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Canada, and Eastern North America. They have broad leaves and berry. Flowers are visited by Gnadochaeta clistoides, Mordellistena ornata, Empis pudica, and Mallota cimbiciformis. Individuals can grow to 7.9 m.
