Sedum lenophylloides Rose, Contr. U. S. Nat. Herb. 13: 298. 1911
Perennial, woody at base, 5-30 cm. high, somewhat branched, the branches strict. Leaves at right angles to the stem, closely set, usually alternate, but the lower ones either opposite or subopposite, 10-15 mm. long, very turgid, rarely subterete, rounded below, somewhat trough-shaped above, acutish, often purplish; inflorescence a short terminal panicle; sepals green, ovate; petals greenish-white, lanceolate; stamens 10, the five opposite the petals borne on these, the other five distinct; scales large, orange-colored; styles elongate, slender; carpels erect at first, afterwards more or less spreading.
Type locality: Mountains of Monterey, Mexico. Distribution: Known only from the type locality.

Perennial, described as procumbent but probably only so at base, 2-3 dm. high, much branched, green or sometimes quite glaucous, the older branches somewhat roughened. Leaves numerous, very turgid and nearly terete (in all specimens seen), 10-16 mm. long, obtusish ; inflorescence of 2 or 3 secund racemes, 3-5 cm. long, many-flowered ; pedicels very short or wanting; sepals ovate to oblong, obtuse, somewhat unequal, 1-2.5 mm. long; corollasegments greenish-yellow, united at base, lanceolate-attenuate, 5 mm. long ; scales short and broad ; carpels united at base.
Type locality : I^as Cuevas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Distribution : San Luis Potosi.
