Slender annual, about 1.5 dm. high, sparsely branched; leaves remote, whorled to middle of stem or higher, the lowest in 2's or 3's, oval to elliptic, 6-12 mm. long, the middle in 5's, elliptic-linear, acuminate at each end, cuspidulate, 1-1.8 cm. long, 1.5-2.5 mm. wide, those of the branchlets mostly scattered, linear, 4-8 mm. long; racemes cylindric or conic, acute, rather loose, 5 mm. thick, the axis 1-2.5 cm. long; pedicels 0.8 mm. long; bracts ovate, deciduous; flowers magenta-pink; sepals broadly oval to ovate, apiculate to acuminate, stipitateglandular-ciliate, 0.8-1.2 mm. long; wings obovate, 2.8 mm. long, 1.4 mm. wide, rounded, 3-nerved; keel 2 mm. long, the crest of 4 lobes on each side; capsule oval, 1.7 mm. long, 1.4 mm. wide; seed pubescent, 1.6 mm. long; aril 1 mm. high, the 2 lobes oblong.
Type locality: Quebrada de la Mojonera, San Ignacio, Sinaloa. Distribution: Known only from the tvpe locality.
