Palhinhaea cernua (Monkey's Paw) is a species of perennial herb in the family club mosses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Hawaii, Rio De Janeiro, RondôNia, Pampa, Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Bahia, Amapá, Roraima, Tocantins, Santa Catarina, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Minas Gerais, The Contiguous United States, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Acre (Brazil), Amazônia, ParaíBa, Puerto Rico, Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pernambuco, Paraná, Alagoas, Pará, Ceará, GoiáS, U.S. Virgin Islands, SãO Paulo, Espirito Santo, Distrito Federal, Cerrado, and Maranhao. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 1.7 m.
