Vernonia missurica (Missouri Ironweed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Eastern Giant Swallowtail, Vanessa cardui, Monarch, and Silver-spotted Skipper. Individuals can grow to 6 feet.
