They are native to RondôNia, Distrito Federal, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Piauí, Rio De Janeiro, GoiáS, Mato Grosso, Acre (Brazil), Pampa, ParaíBa, Tocantins, Espirito Santo, Pará, Puerto Rico, Alagoas, Sergipe, Cerrado, SãO Paulo, Mata Atlântica, Santa Catarina, U.S. Virgin Islands, Roraima, Rio Grande Do Norte, Ceará, Amapá, Bahia, Maranhao, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pantanal, Caatinga, Pernambuco, and AmazôNia. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 14.34 m.
