They are native to GoiáS, Alagoas, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Amazônia, Maranhao, Espirito Santo, Tocantins, U.S. Virgin Islands, Sergipe, Paraná, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mato Grosso, Roraima, RondôNia, Piauí, Pernambuco, Cerrado, Ceará, Pará, Rio De Janeiro, Acre (Brazil), Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, Mata Atlântica, ParaíBa, Amapá, and Puerto Rico. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Individuals can grow to 27 m.
