They are native to Roraima, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, RondôNia, Santa Catarina, Acre (Brazil), Amazônia, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, Pará, Puerto Rico, Bahia, Ceará, Rio De Janeiro, Amapá, Pernambuco, Rio Grande Do Sul, SãO Paulo, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves. They have alternation of generations.
