Southern Giant Horsetail

Equisetum giganteum (Southern Giant Horsetail) is a species of perennial herb in the family horsetails. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Espirito Santo, Santa Catarina, Rio De Janeiro, ParaíBa, Pernambuco, SãO Paulo, Cerrado, GoiáS, Distrito Federal, RondôNia, Mato Grosso, Paraná, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Rio Grande Do Sul, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Minas Gerais, and Piauí. They have simple, photosynthetic stem leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.59 m. They have alternation of generations.
