Phyllanthus (Phyllanthus) is a genus of tree in the family Phyllanthaceae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Puerto Rico, The Contiguous United States, US Minor Outlying Islands, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Hawaii, China, and U.S. Virgin Islands. They have loculicidal capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Siphona, chalcidid wasps, Cheloninae, and Bigheaded ant. Individuals can grow to 4.4 m.
