Notched Fin Eelpout

Oceanodromous. Migrating within oceans typically between spawning and different feeding areas, as tunas do. Migrations should be cyclical and predictable and cover more than 100 km.

Inhabits continental shelves from the littoral zone to about 300 m, where these may enter brackish water during early winter spawning migrations (Ref. 11954).

Zoarces elongatus, the eastern viviparous blenny, is an eelpout in the family Zoarcidae, described by Rudolf Kner in 1868. The species is endemic to the Northwest Pacific, in such areas as the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk and China.
