They are native to Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, Amapá, Bahia, Tocantins, Pará, SãO Paulo, Acre (Brazil), The Neotropics, Distrito Federal, Roraima, RondôNia, Maranhao, Paraná, AmazôNia, Mata Atlântica, Minas Gerais, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Puerto Rico, and GoiáS. They have simple, broad leaves.
