They are native to Santa Catarina, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo, Roraima, Puerto Rico, Mata Atlântica, Acre (Brazil), SãO Paulo, The Neotropics, Amazônia, RondôNia, Tocantins, Rio De Janeiro, Maranhao, Bahia, Paraná, Pará, Amapá, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso, Distrito Federal, and GoiáS. They have simple, broad leaves.
