Cyperus articulatus (Jointed Flatsedge) is a species of perennial grass in the family sedges. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Puerto Rico, SãO Paulo, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Maranhao, Sergipe, Bahia, Amapá, Pará, Caatinga, The Contiguous United States, Amazônia, Rio Grande Do Norte, ParaíBa, Mata Atlântica, U.S. Virgin Islands, Ceará, Rio De Janeiro, Piauí, Pernambuco, and Alagoas. They have simple, broad leaves.
