Devils Tobacco (3110907614)
Description:
Description: Lobelia tupa L. 20081202.2 near Tirua, Chilean coast I was calling this "Giant Cardinal Flower" because it appeared to be distantly related to the cardinal flower from the eastern US based on details of the flower. (It keyed out to Campanulaceae, at any rate, and it was bilaterally symmetric..) It is especially common in moist places along roads and streams on the coast of central Chile. According to wikipedia it is endemic to that region. Date: 2 December 2007, 10:21. Source: Devil's Tobacco Uploaded by Amada44. Author: Jason Hollinger.
