Trifolium glomeratum plant2 (15492404828)
Description :
Description: Introduced, cool-season, annual legume, with sprawling stems to 35 cm long. Leaves have 3 leaflets, each oblanceolate to obovate, hairless and finely toothed. The central leaflet has a distinctly longer stalk than the lateral ones. Flowerheads have no stalk, are ball-shaped (8-10 mm wide) clusters of more than 20 pink pea-like flowers. Pods are oblong and 1-2 mm long. Flowering is in spring. A native of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, it is found on roadsides, wasteland, lawns and native/naturalized pastures. Usually found on coarse-textured low-fertility soils where ground cover is reduced. A very minor component of pastures. Provides good quality feed, but is not very productive. Responds to increased fertility and grazing in late winter to early spring. Date: 31 August 2014, 13:00. Source: Trifolium glomeratum plant2. Author: Harry Rose from South West Rocks, Australia.
